We all encounter moments in our lives that test our capacity to cope, and may cause us to feel ungrounded or overwhelmed.

Whether you are struggling with issues of depression, anxiety, intimacy/relationship concerns, family struggles, life transitions, or simply feel like you need a space to talk through the things weighing heavily on your mind and heart, I intend to create a safe and supportive environment to explore the issues impacting you. I offer a calm, authentic, compassionate style and use an eclectic, active, relational approach grounded in psychodynamic training.

My goal is to understand the full scope of who you are -- your strengths and your struggles, and to use my skills and training to collaboratively build the insight and tools necessary to address the issues you are facing. I truly feel honored to participate in my clients' journeys in this capacity.

I have extensive experience working with adults, college students, and adolescents. Additionally, I welcome clients struggling with gender/sexuality, infertility/pregnancy/post-partum issues and adjustments to parenthood. If my background seems like a potential fit for your needs, please reach out.

FAQs

I’ve never been to therapy before. Where do I start?

Lots of people feel nervous reaching out to a therapist for the first time— that’s completely normal and it’s my job to help you feel at ease about the process. The easiest place to start is to reach out to me by email or phone and we can have a short conversation. I won’t ask you to tell me every detail about what’s going on— it will just be a quick chat to answer any questions you may have, make sure that I’m the right fit for you, and to see if our schedules align. From there, we’ll schedule an initial appointment where you can get a feel for my style, and you can decide from there if you’d like to work together.

Do you accept insurance?

I am currently a contracted provider with Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Depending on your specific plan, therapy may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance plan. To ensure you are aware of your coverage, please contact your health insurance company prior to treatment and ask:

  • Do I need a referral from my PCP?

  • What is my deductible and has it been met?

  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?

  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

  • Do I have a co-payment?

  • Are there dollar limits, visit limits or other coverage limits for my mental health benefits?

What is your rate?

My rate for a 50 minute individual session is $225. Couples therapy sessions are $250. Reduced rates are available on a limited basis to students and seniors (please reach out directly to discuss this possibility). Cancellations made within less than 24 hours are subject to the full session fee of $225. Payments can be made by cash or credit card and are due at the time of service.

How does telehealth work?

It’s actually very easy! I use a HIPPA-compliant platform called doxy.me. It is free and doesn’t require you to download anything. I will send you a link to our virtual meeting room prior to your first session, and you will use that link for all future appointments as well. You just need a space that affords you some privacy, is relatively quiet and has a strong wifi connection.

Where is your office?

I am currently providing therapy via telehealth or in-person appointments. My office is located conveniently in the Coolidge Corner area of Brookline, Massachusetts at 344 Harvard Street, Suite 2. There is metered and non-metered street parking nearby, and the office is an easy walk from the MBTA Green Line.

I’m a current client. How do I access the patient portal?

To access our patient portal, please follow this link: https://liz-sosland.clientsecure.me. From here you can send me a secure message, access your billing information, and see your schedule of appointments.
